Elisabeth Goozee
I am a Bury St Edmunds based artist who studied Fine Art at Colchester School of Art and MA by Project at London Metropolitan University.
My main interest is conservation especially relating to wildlife. Indeed, my MA research focused on how human intervention and exploitation are significant reasons for the impending extinction of many animal species. For example, I am very concerned that myths that rhino horn can cure cancer or hangovers are completely unsubstantiated. During my research, I used various fine art strategies which are non-explicit which are suitable for all groups of people including children.
My current art practice uses the visual language of drawing, particularly in graphite, to engage the viewer by eliciting empathy whilst aiming to share my passion for the animal world and stimulate awareness that animals can disappear in the blink of an eye. Extinction does mean it can never be again.
